how i spent my day :)

we've been putting in a rough few days.  the c-man has stopped sleeping much at night, or ever for that matter.  i think maybe he's coming down with a little something, he's had a cough the last 2 days.  so, the laundry & housework have been piling up around me.  this morning while the little dude napped for all of 20 minutes, i flew round the house, tidying.  no deep clean, but at least things are in the right rooms.

and then, lo & behold, at 11:00, he fell asleep again (maybe we're getting back on track!), i managed to fold 4 loads of laundry and create this beauty:

homemade turkey soup... with carrots from my garden :)

i also prepped for a power outage, just in case.  dishes done, water boiled, bath tub filled.  we are supposed to get around 80 mm of rain tonight, with up to 100 km/h winds.. better to be safe than sorry.  

but most importantly, i hung out with this cute boy all morning:


next on the agenda for the day is a denist appointment for A-Mac, supper with my sister-in-law & her fam, and then Zumba class :)  busy day!

a mumble jumble of thoughts

first of all.. thanks to you mommas out there who posted comments on my "bad day" post. none of my friends really have babies and nobody quite gets what i'm trying to say. i guess i'm going to have to find a way to meet some other moms. on another note, we just brought my little man home from outpatients. he's got infections in both ears and a terrible cold. he's miserable, but still smiling. update: little man is finally in bed. mark & i decided to stay here in oxford for one more night just so we didn't uproot alex after the hubbub of the hospital. we're going to head off tomorrow. i'm looking forward to getting home to my own house, but it sure is nice to have mom's help with alex being sick.

i am sick.

i normally don't go to the doctor. i broke down and went this morning since my cold has turned into something a little more evil, a little more menacing. that's right. i've got a throat infection and was on the verge of strep throat. so, 10 days of penicillin are supposed to cure me. god i hope so. mark's home today, so we just took alex out for a walk, with a pit stop at the kiwi for white hot chocolate & the best ginger cookies on the planet, and i'm a happy camper. 5000 calories later, life is good. i weighed in for weight watchers on monday and lost 1.6 lbs last week. that set me at exactly what my weight was at my very first OBS appointment when i was 11 weeks preggo. only 29 more lbs to go.
