a little slow getting on the bandwagon...

but i just received the grey's anatomy season 1 dvd set for my birthday (thanks to my bro!), and am completely in love. what a fantastic show. i've watched the first 4 episodes already today and i'm sure the last 5 of this season will be watched before we head home for xmas on saturday!

other great gifts i got for my birthday: a great pink & brown sweater, brown pants, a gorgeous necklace (think those circle diamond pendants that are always advertised on TV, and subtract most of the cost), shoes, fleecy jammies, scrapbooking stuff, makeup bags & brushes, and taken out to dinner & the theatre. am i spoiled? hell yes. am i apologizing for it? NO WAY!

xmas is in one week.. i can hardly believe that in another 7 days , all the hubbub (spell?!), excitement, and fun will be over for another year. we're doing two christmases really.. one with my family on the 25th, one with mark's family on the 26th..

not much on the go for this week, really. i'm going to try and pack & organize the stuff to take to mom & dad's for xmas, lunch & a scrapbooking date with my sister-in-law, and one last ditch shopping effort so my hubby can finish his shopping. after that, 2 sweet, blissful days of nothing but hanging out with my beautiful baby boy, and then it's the weekend, and time to head off to river philip for xmas...

time's wasting.. must get back to grey's.

grey's anatomy is awesome ... i asked santa for seasons 1 and 2 for christmas ... fingers crossed that i will be having a mcdreamy marathon on new year's day!

andrea's been watching heroes ... j-p downloaded the first half of the season for her, and she is loving it ... i will be borrowing the dvds over the holidays to see if i can get hooked on yet another show. my mondays are free right now, so i need a new addiction!

a mumble jumble of thoughts

first of all.. thanks to you mommas out there who posted comments on my "bad day" post. none of my friends really have babies and nobody quite gets what i'm trying to say. i guess i'm going to have to find a way to meet some other moms. on another note, we just brought my little man home from outpatients. he's got infections in both ears and a terrible cold. he's miserable, but still smiling. update: little man is finally in bed. mark & i decided to stay here in oxford for one more night just so we didn't uproot alex after the hubbub of the hospital. we're going to head off tomorrow. i'm looking forward to getting home to my own house, but it sure is nice to have mom's help with alex being sick.

a rotten end to the weekend...

so, i had a great weekend at home with mom and dad.. lots of laughs, and relaxing time with them and alex. i left there in my brother's car to bring it back to chester, and he was going to come to my place tonight for a visit with alex and to have supper, and switch cars with me since he had been driving mine since thursday.. then.. mother nature decided to play the cards she's been hiding all winter.. the snow started the closer i got to halifax and by the time i hit the bedford highway, things were messy.. regardless of that, adam and i flipped my stuff out of his car and into mine for me to make the rest of the trip to chester, just in case he couldn't make it down because of the snow. as i drove down the kearney lake road about to hit the highway to go home, the brake line broke in my car. i lost my brakes, on already slippery roads, and did a 180 degree turn in 3 lanes of traffic.. with a baby in the backseat. talk about scary. so, i called adam back and he came to r
